Early Christmas Shopping: What To Buy For The Smoker In Your Life

Article by Jennifer Bravely

As the holiday season approaches, many people are trying to start their shopping early. After all, early shopping can greatly reduce the stress that so often becomes the focus on the holidays. If you have a smoker in your life, however, it can be difficult to find the perfect gift to complement their habit. There are, however, a number of smoking-related gift options to choose from. From a box of fine cigars to meerschaum pipes for sale, you should have no problem finding something they will love.

Choosing the right cigar can be tricky, if you do not know what the person you are buying for likes to smoke. That said, there are a few things you can do to increase your odds of getting something they will like. Because you are shopping early, you may be able to ask them about their favorite cigars without revealing too much about the gift. If not, you should try asking the cigar shop employees for advice. As a general rule, most cigar smokers appreciate the same qualities in a cigar that they do in other things. Think about their favorite wine, coffee and chocolate. Try to figure out if they prefer bold, dark flavors, or mellow, complex flavors.

If choosing a cigar seems too complicated, you can also consider buying a pipe. In fact, many people prefer to give pipes as gifts because they last longer than cigars. Meerschaum, a white or cream-colored mineral, is one of the hottest pipe materials currently on the market. Many tobacco stores and online shops have numerous meerschaum pipes for sale, in a wide rage of designs. The simplest pipes feature a traditional shape with a white bowl and a black stem. The most complex pipes are carved with elaborate and whimsical designs.

If the person you are shopping for only smokes cigarettes, you could consider buying them a fancy cigarette case. Cases are made from a wide range of materials and can be customized to fit individual tastes and styles. To personalize the gift further, you can have an inscription engraved on the case. If you are crafty, you can even make a case yourself out of bent metal or polished wood. Remember to include a pack of their favorite cigarettes with the gift.

As with any gift shopping, it is important to remember who you are buying for. Do not buy them a box of cigars if they cannot stand the smell of cigars. Only look for meerschaum pipes for sale if they enjoy smoking a pipe. If you take your time to shop around, you should have no problem finding the perfect smoking-related gift. If not, you can always settle for a box of nicotine patches.
