Is it legal to ship cigars from the US to the UK and, if so, what is the limit allowed?

I see that an individual is allowed 50 cigars on his/her person when entering the UK, but I’m not sure about shipping as a gift/not for re-.

As far as I know, it is only illegal for the shipment of cigars between US and Cuba. And, as far as shipping, I have no clue. Never really had the experience of shipping hundreds of cigars to other countries, never the less the US. Check with the local post office/FedEx.
