The cigars were bought online and shipping took about a week and they will need to be stored for about three weeks before being given as a gift.

Keep them wrapped and in a fridge to keep them fresh. Tobacco stays fresher in cooler temperatures.
A humidor is the best way to keep cigars fresh though,check a tobacco shop for that or google it to see where you can get one.
in a humidor. some smoke shops let you rent them. a cool dry place might be okay.
I agree with the suggestion-keep them in the frige, but make sure that they are in an airtight container.
